April Showers of Joy

Ottawa’s improv fortune has increased again with a new company emerging. Wayward Improv Theatre (WIT) has their first season planned with both game and narrative in their mandate. Amongst other credits, they are the group behind the local Maestro and Filmed Before A Live Studio Audience, and they have more in store

This is my improv busy-week

WordPlay Jamnasium my gym-jam — a fun brain twister where people of all skill levels zhush classic improv games! RSVP to join us Thursday

“I attended last month and it was so fun! If you want really connect with play in your improv I can’t recommend this enough!” Sophie T

This month, All Request Radio gets the ensemble treatment with five singers joining me in the creation of songs on the spot based on audience suggestions. RSVP to enjoy on Saturday

I have more shows in April to keep those showers of joy flowing! Stay tuned

My future plans

Solo creating and producing has contributed to the slow release of information, as has confirming a venue space. Here’s what I will share:

  • All Request Radio will return to the Atelier Studio for the Fall through to this time next Spring. Look for announcements of pop-up jam sessions in the Summer, as well as a Rhyme focused workshop
  • WordPlayFight will continue to demo at shows over the Spring and Summer. The Jamnasium is booked on the First Thursday through to June. After that, I’ll switch to a weekend time to give more people an opportunity to join

Like WIT, my interest and skillset float between many performance styles. I have more to announce, but I want to sit in my friend’s collective joy for now
