I love being online. It can fit your need for distraction, as well as the immediacy and asynchronicity of connecting with people around the world
On the other hand, this week at an in-person event, people were sharing how difficult it was for them to improvise online — to feel connected while physically disconnected. I took this observation to friends and they agreed that they stepped away from it almost immediately
Confession: It’s been difficult getting virtual workshop attendance in a viable place. I’m shifting my energy to offer my virtual sessions through other organizations and privately-booked groups. I’ll continue in-person workshops in Ottawa and additionally, I’m open to travelling safely. Let’s figure out how to make that work together; I’ve created a form to start the conversation

How I’m Reconnecting Online
After a year away, I’ve come back to performing with “Melanated TV” at The Improv Place and All Request Radio at Highwire Improv. I try to catch every It’s Improv Baby show and Live from the Asylum, and there are many more options out there
I’ve jumped into a couple of jams, including Glossop Improv‘s every other Friday event. I’m looking forward to someday attending Improv College‘s last Sunday jam led by Franky Agueci and Cameron Dee’s Too Many Improvisers Improv Jam. Check out Dingle Drama Improv Resources for other virtual workshops and jams
