The Penultimatum is a hit in New Zealand too

Offered as a bold last minute replacement at the New Zealand Improv Festival, The Penultimatum excelled as a workshop to showcase

“The Penultimatum” is an improvised reality television drama longform format created by Velvet Wells

“It’s fertile ground for the kind of quieter, emotionally grounded scene work that lets seasoned improvisers really shine.” TheatreViews.NZ

Velvet had 3 hours to introduce their original format to an oversold class of 17 eager performers. The next night, the performers took to the Dome stage and shon with sincerity through a range of emotional scenes
