Here’s what Velvet has going on this leap year Black History Month (colonially: February)
Feb 1: The monthly improv/theatre game-filled WordPlay Jamnasium kicks off at the Bronson Centre. Some spots are still available (PWYC, Ticket Tailor)
Feb 3: Come for instantly gratifying musical improvisation – All Request Radio – Live on Location in Ottawa! ($17-20, Ticket Tailor)
Feb 7: The inaugural The Midweek Late Night Show, hosted by Kelly Zemnickis with The Velvet Duke in 2nd chair, and guest Monica Hamburg ($5, create an account on Plauzzable)
Feb 8-12: Baltimore visit!
- Jumping into Block Party! Baltimore’s Best Black Improv Comedy (Feb 9, 7:30pm)
- Leading Gamebreaker workshop (Feb 10, 2pm)
- Playing in the Love, Mead, and Mirth show (Feb 10, 7pm)
- Starting a Virtual WordPlayFight (Feb 11, 1:30pm)
- (If timing works out, I might be able to hop into the B.I.G. Open Jam too (Feb 8, 9pm)
And then, after a breather or three, I’ll have an All Request Radio guest appearance with “Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience: An Improvised Sitcom” (Feb 24, Ticket Tailor)
