Since first being introduced to it in TheatreSports(tm) back in the 80s, I have loved Oscar Award Winning Moment as a performance game. It embodies a level of commitment to the moment that I enjoy seeing and performing
A lot of performers shine in this game, I have been said performer, but the true magic of game is the transformation of a small offer into a vehicle for discovery. This game reinforces active listening, accepting and exploring offers as they are, emotions, silence, and the ability to pivot at a moments notice to move forward
The monologue has the potential to be heart wrenching or hilarious, seemingly quiet until the emotion seeps into the audience
Whether you approach the monologue chronologically or thematically, whether its a 60 second outburst or a 5 minute epic piece, this is one of my favourite games to practice a number of skills all at once
Join me for this one time workshop on Saturday, August 8 from noon-2pm
