Whether its a first date, your birthday party, or a night out with your friends, you’re in for a night for unforgettable memories. We’ll start the celebration on the shore of Mooney’s Bay, giving landlubbers a chance to join the fun. Then, we’ll board the Pirate Life ship where The Velvet Duke and friends will entertain you with a 60-minute revue filled with stand-up, improv, and musical comedy!

These events are mobility device accessible, by gangplank, with a door clearance of 42″ (inches)

Free parking available on site at 588 Hog’s Back Road, just across from the Pirate Life dock. Please check in at the Pirate Life shack when you arrive to receive a parking pass! They’ll ask for either your keys or a 20$ deposit that will be returned to you in exchange for the parking pass after your adventure.

Landlubber Comedy

When available, you can enjoy some Landlubber Comedy for free while you wait to board. Starting at 6:30pm, it’s shoreside splitting comedy with the UOttawa Improv Club! Feel free to donate when they Pass The Hat

  • All tickets are final sale. No exchanges or refunds
  • In the event of a thunderstorm, the show date may be rescheduled; tickets will be honored for the new date
  • No outside drinks allowed on board the ship

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there seating for everyone?

Yar! There are benches for about twenty people to sit on, first come first serve, as well as seats at the front when its not raining. The benches will be prioritized for people who need assistance.

(Updated 7-26) Pirate Life Theatre boats are prioritized for pirate performances and interactivity for kids. Personal chairs are not permitted aboard the ship

Does the boat have protection from the rain?

Yar! (Mostly) In addition to the permanent roofing for the captain’s side of the boat, they will unfurl the canopy to cover the middle of the ship. The front is uncovered and sideways rain may still occur

Is this show family friendly?

As the show includes both stand up and improvisational comedy, it may or may not be suitable for your everyone in your family

Are there drinks and food available?

Yar/Nar. Pirate Life Theatre has a small bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; there are snacks for purchase and a food truck across the bay
